6 Steps to Recruitment
1. As a team of leaders sit down and write a list of what you already do. What are your strengths, your weaknesses, how much time would you ideally like to give to Scouting. What do you enjoy or not enjoy doing?2. Write a detailed list of all the jobs that you need or would like help with (weekly shopping, running games, scoutskills, keeping registers and badge records).
3. Write a list of who can do each of the jobs- you may have a specific person in mind or this may say 'our parents', 'workers from the local outdoor centre'?
4. Decide who might be best at doing a job and then think about how you could target them. How can you get information to them and how can you present the information so that it is attractive to them?
5. Ask!!! Follow up any information and see when would be a good time for them to talk to you some more.
6. Give them a fantastic welcome and give them lots of support.
