Bookbridge is looking for Scout volunteers in every Scout region to collect books to help teach English to children in Mongolia.
Bookbridge is a small Charity which was created by Scouts in Germany with the aim of establishing partnerships with local communities in developing countries. They have also produced a number of materials on www.scouts.org.uk/pol to help leaders to deliver the Global Programme Zone.
How it works:-
Volunteers create a Regional Collection Hub. For 2 weeks in June 2011, books will be sent from local groups to the Hub. Bookbridge & Scout HQ will offer promo materials & support, Approx 4sq metres is required for book storage, volunteers of the hub need to be contactable for the 2 collection weeks and have their details published on the Bookbridge website.
